Some face-to-face in-ring promos on WWE's dime can feel forced and (dare we say) overproduced. It was also slightly risky to book another lengthy skit between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre when Sami Zayn had warmed the live crowd by being passionate earlier in the night, but the World Title foes smashed it.

Contextualising Drew's issues with Jey Uso and his lingering frustrations stretching all the way back to the closed door pandemic era? Smart. Proceeding to have Seth come across as a workhorse champ to be proud of? Smart. Teasing more of McIntyre's incoming full-blown heel turn. Yep, smart.

This was really great stuff.

Later, Drew then approached Zayn backstage and bitched at him for having the cheek to forgive Jey Uso so quickly. That led to a match challenge for next week, which is every bit as appreciated as all of the storytelling between McIntyre and Rollins.
