7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (Sept 5)

1. Tag Team Wrestling Matters… LOL

Braun Strowman

This isn’t a comment on WWE bringing Braun Strowman back into the fold. But their decision to have him wipe out the entire field in a four-way tag team #1 contender’s match was a piss-poor one.

New Day, Street Profits, Alpha Academy and Los Lotharios were actually having a good, fun match to see who would be next to challenge the Usos for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship. It looked like Chad Gable had Montez Ford dead to rights with an anklelock when Braun’s music hit.

Strowman proceeded to demolish everyone, one at a time, laying everyone out to the point that the match never restarted, it just faded away after Braun finally left ringside.

If you wanted to have Braun interrupt a match and beat up a bunch of goobers, have it be a damn 24/7 Championship match between R-Truth, Reggie, Drew Gulak and Akira Tozawa. At least then fans would welcome the arrival and chaos stopping something boring.

This just informed us that #1 contenders for the tag titles don’t matter, and it made four tag teams look like total geeks to reheat Strowman.
