7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (6 Dec - Results & Review)
6. Elektra Lopez Shines

Legado del Fantasma member Elektra Lopez doesn't get too many chances to further her skillset in TV matches. On Friday, it would've been easy for her to sink as the worker with the least high profile reps vs. Naomi and Tiffany Stratton, but she didn't. Instead, Lopez looked really good throughout, and thriving in a spot like this should give her some confidence.
Go get 'em, Elektra.
A few of WWE's opening round three ways in the Women's United States Title tourney have done wonders for relative rookies. B-FAB and Lash Legend come to mind there. Whilst matches have varied in quality, it's been a nice idea overall. This week's version was certainly a winner, and Lopez will be chuffed with her efforts. She didn't try to do too much, but everything she tried came off without a hitch.
That was surely Triple H's plan when he formatted things this way. Stars like Bayley and Stratton have picked up the wins (rightly so), but that didn't mean others have to sink into the background. WWE legend Jesse Ventura was camped out around ringside before returning to the commentary table at Saturday Night's Main event next weekend, and he must've been impressed by what he was seeing.
Lopez never once looked out of place. If anything, it's notable that the only slight botch in the bout came from Naomi. She lost her balance on the ropes, but recovered well. Some of Naomi's matches have suffered from mistakes since her comeback, but this was nothing major.
