7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 9)

6. Bayley Blaming The Fans

Heels should never miss the chance to heel.

Bayley avoided the usual practice of breaking character to address injuries by blaming fans for what happened to her during training drills at the Performance Center. According to the stricken star, she was only working hard to prep for Bianca Belair, beat her and then give everyone the SmackDown Women's Champ they deserve.

This was a nice short, sweet and to-the-point promo from Bayley. She didn't laugh either, which...well, that's always going to be a plus considering how painful the cackling trope is. Everyone needs to stop trying to do their best Ted DiBiase, put it that way.

Admittedly, Bayley's rivalry with Belair was dragging on, but it's never nice to see anybody hit with an ACL injury. Missing the best part of a full year will suck for Bayley, but at least she can hold her head high after this promo. Blaming the fans and staying true to her heel gimmick was best for long-term business.
