7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 9)

Although Twitter blew a gasket over WWE's decision to remove Shotzi Blackheart's surname and Tegan Nox' forename, it's hard to complain about some new faces on SmackDown. The brand's female ranks sorely needed fresh blood in a hurry, and it's not like Shotzi and Nox don't deserve this chance.

Toni Storm is also on the way too, which is another step in the right direction. Pre-Friday, SmackDown only boasted seven active women. That number fell by one when Bayley's injury woes came to light as well - Blackheart, Nox and Storm should offset her absence.

Also, it's only a matter of time before Sasha Banks returns.

Things are finally looking up for the women's division on Fridays again. Assuming Toni comes in as a vicious heel, then WWE will have a ready-made challenger for Bianca Belair, and then they can quietly build Shotzi and Tegan in the background.
