7 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 19)

Downs...

3. Poor Follow Up

Cameron Grimes

Cameron Grimes was relegated to a short backstage promo this week, and it was all rather easy to miss. Short promos are fine, but this one didn't do enough to follow on from his win over Baron Corbin, or explain what Grimes' main goals are on SmackDown.

Reports coming out of Friday's double taping from fans there live say Cam wrestles on next week's show. Cool, but...WWE had to keep some sort of momentum going, and this backstage interview with Megan Morant just didn't cut it. It was akin to the kind of .com fare that WWE used to litter their website with.

Hmm.

Hopefully, next week's SmackDown is a little more promising for the former NXT star. He was lost in the shuffle on Friday, and that's annoying when other newbies managed to shine. No, WWE can't squeeze everyone onto TV for 10-15 mins every single week, but following up is important.
