7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 6)

2. Brandi Rhodes vs. Kenzie Paige

Brandi Rhodes Kenzie Paige

As the most inconsistent character in AEW, Brandi Rhodes is snotty and villainous one moment, valiant and brave-hearted the next, and her opener with Kenzie Paige was stodgy. There were a handful of what looked like mistimed moments early on and a bunch of different moves (from a basic clothesline and Sling Blade to the match-ending Shot of Brandi knee strike) didn't appear to connect, making this a tough watch.

The post-match was at least consistent with recent storylines, as Anna Jay attacked Rhodes before being ran off by Red Velvet, whom Brandi saved from Jay and Tay Conti last week. That tag bout will hopefully come sooner rather than later.
