7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (22 Mar - Review)

Downs…

4. The Gunns Vs Top Flight

FTR Gunns
AEW

The problem with booking lame-duck Champions on purpose is that it's really hard to find the balance between them being knowingly rubbish and the show not sucking as a result.

The Gunns were given three other teams and party match-adjacent agenting for their Revolution pay-per-view defence, and had to face this match being hacked to bits by commercials and a run-in from The Kingdom in order to get away with a 10-minute token defence against Top Flight.

As with the end of the aforementioned four-way, the paper Champions had to contend with the best team in the land walking out after their win. FTR stared The Gunns down, listened to their trash talk and offered up their AEW careers before being spat at.

The all-or-nothing match is on, and that'll almost certainly be one of the year's best nail-biters. Getting there - per the limitations of the Champions - has felt a little too pedestrian.
