7 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Apr 21)

Penta El Zero Miedo
AEW

Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Trent? was a brisk, hard-hitting clash with bigger bombs than the opener, and looked like an apt singles comeback for Trent? following his recent return, though it was ultimately undone by an unnecessarily cluttered finish.

Alex Abrahantes is now more than just the Penta Says guy. He's a full-on manager for the Lucha Brother, and that works. Obnoxious in all the right ways, Alex has charisma, makes you want to slap him in the face, and generally plays his role well. Here, he was overused to the point of derailment.

Abrahantes intervened when Penta was in trouble, grabbing a microphone to tell Trent? he sucks, his friends sucks, and his mom, Sue, sucks. Literal "Your Mom!" jokes opened the window for Penta to prevail, with a microphone shot and Package Piledriver finishing the Best Friend.

Trent? looked silly for gawking at Alex while all this was going on. Penta, meanwhile, came across as a guy who needed his interviewer buddy's help to win. Weak stuff.
