2. Walking The Rocky Road

Trey Miguel began his X Division Title reign as he means to go on, delivering a banger defence against Rocky Romero. There was a simply story to it, which helped; Trey reached the mountaintop, Rocky wanted a title match on Twitter, and it was booked. What actually happened in the match is the greater factor here.

It was, as expected, a hoot. Trey moves around the ring with such grace and presence, as evidenced by even his smallest of mannerisms. When applying an octopus hold in the ropes, Miguel swung around in the same style as a 619 would warrant. It looked blissful, even though it wasn't a necessity.

Rocky really stood out here. His single-leg Boston crab counter to the Meteora was grandiose, as it looked as if Trey had actually connected. He technically had, you see; Rocky simply over-rotated afterwards. He'd be a superb regular fit for the division moving forward.

Trey retained, of course, and was attacked post-match by Steve Maclin, proclaiming that Trey never beat him for the title at Bound For Glory. Your writer would have let Trey celebrate this one, but regardless, a superlative beginning to Trey's reign.
