7 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (28 Oct)

1. The Real World's Champion

Moose IMPACT World Champion

Through all the moving parts, the opening to last night's IMPACT worked on many levels.

It was Moose who began the night, his attempts to speak thwarted by the immediate arrival of Eddie Edwards. This brawl perhaps wasn't necessary, as it felt to be too much of the same - Eddie on top, Moose pushing him away and kicking him in the face, repeat - but again, it did work for the overarching story.

Josh Alexander, too, would attack Moose once he had spoken, though the new champion managed to avoid too much damage. He scampered through the crowd, allowing Minoru Suzuki to come face to face with the 'Walking Weapon' instead. Alexander and Suzuki did exactly what they needed to here; they forearmed each other and evaded each other's respective submission manoeuvres, ultimately being pulled apart. This'll lead to a grand showdown down the line.

As for Moose's actual promo? It was right on every beat. He referenced everyone from Roman Reigns to Big E to Charlotte Flair, stating he was the sport's greatest champion, so it was typical of Moose, but yet, effective in his arc. That Moose walked to the ring almost motionless made this all the more better.

A top-notch start to amend some of the errors made in Bound For Glory's finishing angle.
