7 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (28 Oct)
3. Started Well, Ended Odd
Tasha Steelz shouldn't be getting jobbed out, but her match with Rachael Ellering would have worked better as a squash match, given the manner in which Rachael began her quote-unquote assault.
Spurred on by some comments backstage from Steelz, Rachael was a different animal from the sound of the bell, instantly charging into her with a flying Uppercut. This sort of offence continued for a minute or two before the pacing slowed down, Tasha took control, and the match lost all of its meaning. It was a sad affair, really, as this could have been something for Rachael. Instead, she feels very much like she's trying to impress Jordynne Grace as if it's a mother/daughter bonding moment. Rehashing a feud with the former Fire N Flava member does nothing to help anyone.
The ending was a major blow. A jumping Cutter reversed into a backslide is a counter we've seen before, but here, the timing was off, meaning both went down at a slightly-awkward angle in a mess of a finish. That Tasha kicked out just at the count of three worked as it was a surprise rollup, but still, it didn't land. It felt more like the sort of match you'd see from some of the greener Performance Center guys, not two experienced knockouts.
