7 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (6 May)

In recent times, your writer has been somewhat fond of the Swinger’s Palace skits. Not this week’s, though; there’s no reason as to why the Under Siege World Championship number one contender’s bout needs to be promoted through such a skit.

John E. Bravo’s poker table was surrounded by Chris Bey, Trey Miguel, Matt Cardona, Chris Sabin, James Storm, and other tertiary characters, with the five speaking about it’s their time to win the World Championship. The only thing we actually learned here is that Sabin wouldn’t be accompanying Storm to ringside for his qualifying bout vs. Moose.

It was Bey who had interrogated both Sabin and Storm with regards to which of their tag teams they’ve enjoyed being part of the most, attempting to create some friction between them. It just didn’t land where it needed to.

IMPACT must learn to restrict the Swinger’s Palace skits to secondary stories, not stories that involve the World Championship.
