7 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (6 May)

5. Gallows Blends Juice

There were a lot of moving parts in Doc Gallows vs. Juice Robinson, but the overall package served its purpose. Gallows defeated Robinson with a neat sit-down chokebomb to build further anticipation towards the six-man tag at Under Siege.

The pair wrestled a brisk match that flew by, with neither really holding the advantage for too long. This helped the flow of the match greatly. Highlights included Gallows’ barrage of kicks on the former CJ Parker, as well as Juice’s neat corner cannonball senton.

Having four others at ringside could have deterred this off a cliff, but because they refrained from getting involved until the match’s conclusion, it worked. Karl Anderson, Kenny Omega, and Don Callis all got on the apron to distract Robinson and prevent him from landing his Pulp Friction finish, with the Super Elite then also laying waste to Robinson, David Finlay, and Eddie Edwards post-match.

While having the Omega-led group standing tall two weeks in a row over the same three guys might be a tad overkill, it’s Kenny Omega. He can make it work. So long as it doesn’t happen again next week, it’s fine.
