7 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (2 Sept - Results & Review)
3. Rhea Sidelined, Soldiers On
The new Judgment Day clearly recognizes that its biggest threat isn’t Damian Priest, it’s the other Terror Twin coming after the Women’s World Championship.
Rhea Ripley opened Raw Monday night setting her sights on Liv Morgan’s title after pinning the champ at Bash in Berlin, but Dominik Mysterio came out to rebut her… and provide a distraction for Liv. The duo lucked into Ripley getting tangled in the ropes and hanging upside down from her ankle, allowing Morgan to repeatedly kick away at Rhea’s leg until Priest made the save.
The attack left Ripley in a knee brace and on a crutch, essentially put on the shelf for the rest of the show and unable to counter Liv’s interference in the main event… at least initially. Rhea managed to drag herself to ringside and chased Morgan off.
Ripley’s injury, if followed up in the coming weeks, would give Morgan a target in their rematch, which is realistically the best (and only) chance she has to retain her title. Rhea has dominated Liv in their encounters, including at Bash in Berlin, so Morgan desperately needs something to tip the scales back in her favor.
