4. Babyface Zayn Perseveres

WWE Raw Sami Zayn Ludwig Kaiser
WWE

Is anyone better than Sami Zayn at playing the babyface underdog, fighting from underneath and overcoming the odds?

Zayn performed his magic show once again Monday night against Ludwig Kaiser, suffering greatly at the hands of the Imperium henchman before making a miraculous comeback. Kaiser dominated large parts of this excellent little match, at one point countering a trademark Zayn barricade moonsault by simply pushing him into the timekeeper’s area onto a chair. Ludwig avoided the Helluva Kick a couple of times, but Sami rose from the dead multiple times before countering Kaiser’s DDT finisher with a German suplex and a Helluva for the victory.

The match served as a backdrop for what came next with Gunther, but it also reminded anyone who might have forgotten that Sami is a tremendous underdog babyface to not sleep on him. It also provided Kaiser with a good platform to showcase his in-ring skills, coming up just short against Zayn. Eventually, he’s going to get the opportunity to step out on his own, and it’s going to be a really fun moment.
