3. Creeds’ Coming Out Party

Creed Brothers

WWE might have figured out that the formula for rallying fans behind the Creed Brothers: Let Julius and Brutus display their freakish feats of athleticism and strength repeatedly until the crowds lose their collective minds.

During the tag team turmoil match, the Creeds were the de facto heels against #DIY and the New Day, with fans booing their offense and cheering their opponents. But every time Julius did a deadlift slam or he and Brutus flew around the ring in a way men their size shouldn’t be able to, the crowd slowly came around.

By the time they got to the Creeds versus Imperium, fans seemed to be on the fence… until Julius went off with a series of belly-to-belly suplexes and kip-ups. From then on, the Nashville audience was fully behind the brothers on their way to victory and becoming number one contenders for the tag titles.

There obviously is still work to be done in developing their characters a bit more and getting fans to invest in them beyond their insane ring work, but it’s visible and audible that this is working.
