Gigi Dolin doesn’t deserve a thumbs-down for getting injured during her main roster debut, but you can’t help but feel like it was just a really bad sign for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament.

Dolin and Jacy Jayne – Toxic Attraction – won their SmackDown debut last week, defeating veterans Natalya & Sonya Deville in the first round of the eight-team tourney. However, the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions were themselves a replacement team, subbing for an injured Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons.

And now, their spot in the semi-finals will be decided in a second chance fatal four-way tag team match between the four teams who lost in the first round: Nattie & Sonya, Dana Brooke & Tamina, Nikki ASH & Doudrop, and Shotzi & Xia Li.

It’s an unfortunate situation, and after the near-three-month hiatus for the tag titles, it doesn’t help that an eight-team tournament of mostly makeshift teams is seeing its second replacement team.
