4. Jacob Fatu’s Air Of Danger

Cody Rhodes wouldn’t have had much new to say with his opening promo anyway, so it’s a good thing he was interrupted by Jacob Fatu. All fired up, a ticked off Fatu then called out Drew McIntyre, who was in a private suite watching the show. Nick Aldis begged Jacob not to go up there and tear the WWE Champion limb from limb, then teased potentially setting up McIntyre vs. Fatu for Elimination Chamber.

This felt a little more urgent than some WWE promo train segments. The reactions Drew is getting as a heel will need to be discussed though, because he’s receiving bigger pops than most of the babyfaces. The opening segment was solid stuff and there’s always an air of danger when Fatu’s around though. He ups the intensity in a hurry, and doesn't waste time mincing his words with empty platitudes as a character.

That's appreciated when Cody is all, 'What do you wanna talk about?' and Drew is in the mood to troll everyone within earshot. Having Fatu's intense approach at hand will help this situation if the company wants to go Triple Threat or Fatal-4-Way with it heading into WrestleMania. They've apparently still to make their minds up on that one.

Rhodes deciding against getting physical with Jacob put over how much of a threat everyone views Fatu as too. Cody knows he has Elimination Chamber coming up, so it'd be foolish to throw hands with the 'Samoan Werewolf'. The ex-WWE Champ took out some of his frustrations on a perceived soft target later in the night anyway.
