6. Chad Gable Makes A Solid Second Impression

What a popular and welcome return this proved to be.

Chad Gable had a nice face to face with Sami Zayn backstage when he was meeting with Nick Aldis. The way Sami's jaw dropped when he spotted that another workhorse (one who's already getting the positive reactions from audiences he's looking for) had re-entered the chat was stunning. Few understand the subtle nuances of their own character better than Zayn.

Later, Gable hunted out Rey Fenix and apologised for making a mockery of lucha libre last year at WrestleMania 41. Fenix accepted his apology, but said Chad might need to say sorry to others too. That may well lead to a similar segment over on Raw with Penta, and Chad can meet with GM Adam Pearce before settling back into a groove on either brand.

Here's hoping he's on SmackDown, because it'd be a joy to write about some Gable matches in this very article weekly.

Personally, this fan is looking forward to scouting out Chad as a dignified babyface, because it’ll be a good role for him on Fridays. It’s nice to have him back generally. No roster should scoff at having someone this talented on the books, put it that way. Some of the matches Gable can have with Gunther (run that back, please!) and Sami will be stellar, and he'll also be useful for helping newer faces like Ricky Saints and Royce Keys.

Gable vs. Carmelo Hayes is another match that badly needs to happen on-screen. That'd be a delicious piece of business for team blue.
