5. Women’s 4-Way Brings Energy

Raquel Rodriguez pinned Kiana James to win out over her, Bayley and Jacy Jayne in a Queen Of The Ring first round bout.

Now, Raquel will meet IYO SKY in the semi finals of the tournament after this victory, and that guarantees another fine TV match for Trips and staff. On Friday, the Fatal-4-Way was zippy. It was also formulaic as far as this match type goes, but it was still a good watch regardless. Let's be real: A lot of these Fatal-4-Ways could play out similarly, to be honest.

WWE has overdone it with the formatting. They always do. As usual, the sheer depth of talent available to them on the roster helped massively, and that meant this one was good fun to sit through. Jayne is wonderful as a sneering villain, Bayley will always get a babyface reaction from crowds, James more than held her own, and Rodriguez scored a momentum-boosting triumph.

Giulia and Kiana finally splitting was overdue too. It won't make much sense if James fails to watch some clips back on YouTube and at least acknowledge that Giulia wasn't the one who broke up her pin attempt, but that's probably a minor grumble anyway. The most important thing will be continuing to develop Kiana's game and giving Giulia some steam on the main roster. That's been lacking since the start.

There's way better to come in this tourney, so don't go thinking this was unmissable or anything. It was decent at best, but still enjoyable and added to the high quality on offer in-ring in Bologna.
