2. Ladder To Heaven

There's been no other match on this card with as many words donated to it as Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon's Intercontinental Ladder Match over the past two and half decades - but the legacy of it lasts a lifetime thanks to how well the effort endures.

Oddly ordinary WrestleMania matches the prior year masked the powerful potential of both men as industry megastars, but there was no hiding the incendiary excellence of both after this. Reinventing themselves as the most vital performers in the industry just hours after two brothers had tried the same trick, Michaels and Ramon were elevated in status and stature forever by the brawl.

Going over their allotted time at the expense of the aforementioned 10 midcarders earned them an almighty b*llocking from Randy Savage on the night, but few fans found reason for complaint at the triumph they'd just witnessed.
