7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (Jul 28)

Downs...

5. Scorpio Sky vs. Cody Hollis

Scorpio Sky Cody Hollis
AEW

Continuing Scorpio Sky's recent jobber elevation tour with Cody Hollis was a smart idea in theory. Hollis is a smooth, experienced wrestler who works with snap and looks a cut above the average Dark pin-eater, but the match format is starting to outlive its use.

Sky always works hard. He rules, but this singles elevation needs to take a different turn. Beating Hollis means he has now had six Dark wins in a row, all in the exact same way, with Scorp giving his opponent plenty for taking the win. While it's always a nice workout for him, diminishing returns kick in when you do the same thing over and over again - as is the case here.

Let's give Scorpio something more substantial next time.
