7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (Jul 28)

4. Penelope Ford vs. Kenzie Paige

Flashes of promise almost elevated Penelope Ford and Kenzie Paige's match into the Ups side of the column, though the bout was undone by its unignorable sloppiness. A handful of rough sequences undid this one. It was a problem throughout but particularly prominent towards the end, as Ford's springboard cutter looked like it missed by a good few inches, before 'The Superbad Girl' put Paige away with a Fisherman's Suplex on which she couldn't get Paige all the way up.

It's a shame, this, as Ford looked so great against Hikaru Shida the other week. Bouts like last night's are a reminder that while she may have all the potential in the world, she's still a work in progress.
