7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (May 6)

7. The Women's Division. Re-Introduced
Last night felt like something of a soft reset for AEW's women's division thanks, primarily, to an expertly-produced video package highlighting the scene and its biggest players.
Nyla Rose was presented as the centrepiece, with Penelope Ford, Hikaru Shida, and Britt Baker put over as her immediate challengers. It wasn't long or drawn out but it sure was effective, presenting the top of the table as an evolving, competitive playing field waiting for a true number one contender to emerge.
Spoiler: it's probably Shida, particularly as Baker looks to be involved with Brandi Rhodes now.
The division needed this after the global health crisis forced Nyla to stay at home and miss the last set of television tapings. Let's hope it's a sign of good things to come: the division has improved, but it's still lacklustre compared to the conversation.
