7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 11)

5. "Jezebel"

Allie The Bunny
AEW

It's time we stopped using the word "Jezebel" to characterise female wrestlers regardless of their alignment. While the term usually gets used with Anna Jay, Allie was the recipient last night, with the unfortunate descriptor thrown her way twice in the Bunkhouse match.

The word's synonyms, implied meaning, and connotations should see is eliminated. Wrestling commentators would be better off not using something that can mean "woman of easy virtue" in 2020.

There's little chance that Allie and Anna Jay are being called "Jezebel" through malice, or to paint them in an unsavoury light, but it needs to stop - regardless of intent. Let's move on from it.
