7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Fyter Fest 2021 Night 2

4. Baker Vs. Rose Overcomes Clunkiness, Gets Over

Britt Baker
AEW

There was some clunkiness to Britt Baker vs. Nyla Rose, which was reflected in the crowd response. Texas started hot, because Britt is over as hell, but wavered through several less-than-fluid sequences and outside interference spots, before eventually being pulled back in by a closing stretch strong enough to regain their favour.

From the moment Rose hit her draping knee drop, the crowd was 100% into it. A hobbling Rebel was too slow to save Baker from Nyla's second attempt and the crowd was there to see Baker. Received as a hero, they were behind her big comeback leading to the finish, as the champion put Nyla away with a Lockjaw tapout.

While not the best match Nyla and Britt have had together, this was still a net positive on the whole. When you're able to pull a crowd back in the intended direction through the strength of your work, that's always a win.
