7 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Fyter Fest 2021 Night 2

Ups...

7. Brass Cass

Orange Cassidy
AEW

The Blade vs. Orange Cassidy was given extra oomph early in the evening, when Blade attacked OC with his brass knuckles following Darby Allin's match with Wheeler YUTA.

This prompted Cassidy to go all out from the first bell. With Blade calling for a forfeit when Orange failed to immediately turn up, Cassidy leapt on him from behind, pulling the crowd into a fight that succeeded for its clash of characters and alignments.

Blade was good as a shortcutting heel, feigning a knee injury to open a window of opportunity, while Cassidy answered by breaking his laconic haze to explode into life at opportune moments. Interferences and distractions from seconds aside, this was good, solid television fodder, and OC claiming the brass knuckles for his own (after smacking Blade with them after the bell) will surely lead to something in the future.
