7 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Under Siege 2021

4. Is This Over Yet?

This was sloppy. Not a mess necessarily, but a mess nonetheless.

Taylor Wilde and Tenille Dashwood’s story arc as a tandem can’t go on any longer. It sucks, and it sucks terribly bad. They showed some decent cohesion early on, hitting some of their signature manoeuvres at the same time, but they completely messed up the timing of this, prohibiting it from being a genuinely great part of the match.

The ending was fine, but again, it was a bit messy and didn’t entirely make sense. Kimber Lee broke up Wilde’s small package on Susan and got into it with the referee for a solid minute or so, which was needless in itself, but during all of this, Kaleb With A K kicked Susan in the head. A bridging German suplex from Taylor got the three count, all while Kimber Lee looked on clueless.

Very little of this was good. Commentary attempted to make this work by mentioning how Susan has repeatedly used a shoe as a foreign object, which means it’s hilarious that she lost via shoe-based offence. Surprise surprise, though; it was dire, dire booking. The things we have to suffer through to reach Wilde vs. Deonna Purrazzo.
