7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (24 June - Results & Review)

4. McIntyre’s Revenge Tour

Drew McIntyre
WWE

Drew McIntyre probably should have won the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle, but they’ve managed to turn yet another screwjob into more rage and angst fuel for the Scottish Warrior, which he unleashed on CM Punk on Friday.

McIntyre stopped by Raw Monday night to gloat about his handiwork and to blow kisses at Punk, wishing nothing but the worst for his rival. He laid into Punk and then pointed out that he stole his bracelet bearing the names of Punk’s wife and “stupid-looking dog” Larry on Friday… as if this rivalry needed to get more personal.

Backstage, Drew continued his righteous indignation at needing to qualify for Money in the Bank, while Seth Rollins returned from injury and was handed a world title match, thus proving that this version of McIntyre is the best.

All of this is in service of making the eventual McIntyre/Punk clash as white-hot as humanly possible, a main-event-level match that won’t need a title to feel like the most important battle on the card. And Drew is easily one of the most relatable, interesting characters on the entire roster, which is another victory for the company.
