7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (24 June - Results & Review)

3. A More Grounded Wyatt Angle

Nikki Cross Michael Cole

The video Nikki Cross left behind that featured Uncle Howdy “interviewing” Bo Dallas is bound to be a divisive segment.

While the manner in which it was presented to Michael Cole was spooky, the video itself was much more grounded in reality. Uncle Howdy posed questions to Dallas about how he feels about his brother (Bray Wyatt) dying and whether he is exploiting Bray’s legacy, opening the door for Bo to opine.

The result was Dallas speaking very candidly about how much his brother meant to him, how hurt he was by losing him, and how painful the entire experience was. He then transitioned to talking about how “they” wanted to forget about him and others – the Wyatt Sick6 – and that they made them remember – via last week’s “massacre.”

The entire gimmick and angle could swing in either direction, but it was refreshing that Monday’s development veered away from the supernatural and appeared to be rooted in very real emotions. The jury is going to be out for a while on this one, but WWE gets positive marks on this week’s effort.
