4. IC Title Match Gets There

If Vince McMahon were still in charge, the Sami Zayn/Chad Gable/Bronson Reed feud would go through at least three more permutations before they finally got to the inevitable triple threat match at the next PLE, likely announced on the Raw prior to the event.

Thankfully, that did not happen here, as the Intercontinental Championship match between the three men became official Monday night after Sami attacked Bronson and Chad during their singles bout, trying to get revenge on both men for jumping him in recent weeks. Gable’s motivations are personal, while Reed made clear that it’s all about business – the IC title – for him.

Another nice note here is that the Reed/Gable match only went a couple of minutes before Zayn caused a DQ, rather than getting 10-12 minutes before the obvious interference. And knowing they only had a short window, Reed and Gable threw the kitchen sink at each other from the opening bell, making for a decent sprint.

The feud might not be everyone’s cup of tea – especially with Bronson, who just gives off a weird vibe as a guy too small to be big and intimidating but too big to not be considered a “normal” wrestler. But Sami is a tremendous babyface champion, and having to fend off two heel challengers has got to be a recipe for success.
