7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (6 May - Results & Review)

5. Morgan’s Self-Serving Bail

Liv Morgan Becky Lynch

Ever since returning from injury, Liv Morgan has been on a revenge tour to take out Rhea Ripley and win the Women’s World Championship. She’s accomplished half of her goals, but she’s come up short repeatedly in trying to win gold.

Becky Lynch, meanwhile was doing champ things Monday night, putting over half the Raw women’s division before Morgan interrupted and demanded respect, and a title match – which she received. She clearly has been trying to develop an edgier character, but there’s a fine line between “edgy” and “whiny.”

Fortunately, Damage CTRL was on the scene to help things along. The trio surrounded the ring, forcing Lynch and Morgan back-to-back… until Liv bailed, declaring that this was “not my problem.” While not a full-fledged heel turn, it removed any doubt that Liv will take shortcuts and do whatever is necessary to win the title.

As a nice coda to the segment, Lyra Valkyria ran down to save Becky from the Damage CTRL assault, just moments after it was established (for the Raw audience) that Lynch has a great deal of respect for her countrywoman, who beat her for the NXT Women’s Championship.
