Last week, Shinsuke Nakamura showed up on Raw as a preview to his formal arrival as a roster member for the first time.

What should have been a big deal ended with Nak making fun of Miz and his “tiny balls.” Cue the groaning. But at least it looked like he might be moving on, as he was inserted into the 12-man World Heavyweight Championship tournament.

Fast-forward to Monday night, where it was Shinsuke who took the pin in his triple threat match. Later, he ran into Miz backstage, who continued his pitch for the two of them to become a tandem: Miz-ke Nakamura. You can’t make that up.

Instead, we’re now getting Miz/Nak next week. We’ll call this a very minor “down,” as everyone needs building block wins, but the longer Nakamura is embroiled with Miz, the more midcard he feels. And you can’t help but feel like this is going to drag on for six weeks because Vince McMahon loves the “Miz-ke” gag.

End the mini-program next week and we’ll call it a wash.
