7 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (Oct 10)

Downs…

5. Nostalgia Act At Best

After all the hype surrounding D-Generation X’s big 25th-anniversary celebration, there were no retrospectives, no talking head segments, no interviews, no angles, and no interesting tidbits.

When it all came down to it, four members of one of the most influential acts of the Attitude Era rode a jeep (not a tank) into the arena, danced down to ringside, threw out green glow sticks, and delivered all their catchphrases while briefly thanking fans for supporting them.

And that was it.

Don’t get it wrong, there was nothing bad about the segment or inherently wrong with it. But this was just pure nostalgia and a low-grade version of nostalgia at best. We’ve heard all of them deliver the same routine countless times, and if that was sprinkled in with some genuine celebration or insight, it would have been fantastic.

But delivering the bare minimum of catchphrases isn’t going to warrant an “up” here, especially not when watching on TV. Live and in person? Sure, that’s an easy “up.”
