7 Ups & 6 Downs For WWE Raw (21 July - Results & Review)
3. Booking Stupidity Strikes Again
Not to knock the decision to book the LWO into Monday’s tag title contender’s match, but what was the logic behind that move?
The War Raiders have been seen backstage the past few weeks mixing it up a bit with the New Day, with the duo noting that they never got a two-on-two World Tag Team Championship rematch. When the match to name the next challengers came along, the War Raiders were nowhere to be found.
Instead, Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde – a duo that has not won a single tag match on Raw or SmackDown in more than two years on the roster – were inserted into the match, which they would go on to win. At least the Creed Brothers beat the War Raiders a couple of months ago.
If WWE was going to just give anyone an opportunity to become tag title contenders, why not New Catch Republic? There was no reason to do this other than LWO either being the team to get pinned or to win the opportunity.
Now the match itself…
