7 Ups & 6 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (29 July)

2. Sabin's Lights Are Out

The Moose vs. Chris Sabin Slammiversary rematch is the match that should have happened at Slammiversary. This was far and above a grander spectacle than their previous encounter, with the audience vastly more involved with the proceedings than they were back on 17 July. This helped Moose and Sabin fine-tune that first bout, adding in similar spots to benefit the story.

Surprisingly, the crowd was firmly on Moose's side here, only chanting for Sabin in a softer, subtle tone. He performed at the next level throughout the empty arena era, so is deserving of this ovation, and bounced off the reaction perfectly. He's still a d*ck, so he chopped Sabin, waited for the 'one more time' chants, and gouged Sabin's eyes instead of another chop. Tremendous heel sh*t.

He won, as wrestling lore dictates that whoever loses the first match must win the second outing, flattening Sabin with a Lights Out. Interestingly, though, the show went off-air with the pair being pulled apart by a gaggle of security guards. Was this not the end of their story? A third match isn't really needed now, although if this is the quality they're producing, you can't complain too much. A good bit of business, this.
