7 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (20 Feb - Results & Review)

3. A Dud Of A Segment

Ding Dong Hello

A WWE Hall-of-Famer returning to Raw to announce she’s challenging for a title should be a red-hot, can’t-miss segment. But somehow, Lita teaming up with Becky Lynch to challenge Damage CTRL was a bit underwhelming.

Bayley hosted Ding Dong, Hello! to celebrate the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, but before they got too far into their interview, Lynch interrupted to announce that she decided the best path to WrestleMania for her is to win the tag titles that Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky haven’t defended in more than two months.

This led to the rather predictable WWE trope of Bayley saying Becky didn’t have any friends despite Lita coming to The Man’s aide during their cage match just two weeks earlier. Naturally, Lita came out and they issued the challenge in rather painful form, as the two former women’s champions read off their Wikipedia pages as justification for why they should get a tag title match despite never having teamed together.

To drive this car further into the ditch, Becky and Lita then snatched the titles off Kai and Sky and held them aloft while all three members of Damage CTRL… stood there. It was uncomfortable, with three wrestlers just looking impotent at the two who grabbed their titles from them. (Yes, Kai is still on crutches, but then don’t book that situation.)
