WWE has struggled with how to book a young and still-learning wrestler like Dominik Mysterio. They clearly view him as a future star, but they also acknowledge he has a ways to go and can get beat by more experienced superstars.

Monday night, Dom started off against Chad Gable in a tag match where the winners advanced for a title shot against RK-Bro. Gable slapped Dominik around and told him not to tag out to his dad Rey Mysterio, basically daring him to man up. The fun part here is that Dom did just that, firing up and slapping Chad back, then managing to capitalize on a missed moonsault and getting a deep rollup for the win.

Yes, rollup wins can be dangerous if overused, but this worked in the context of the match, as it allowed Mysterio to overcome an overconfident opponent and to win his own battle. It was a little thing, but it worked.
