7 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw XXX (23 Jan - Review)

1. LA Dumbass

Whenever WWE holds one of its “milestone” shows, you almost reflexively cringe at how they’re going to incorporate legends into the show. Many times in the past, it’s been at the expense of its current superstars.

Monday, we got to see LA Knight completely lose his brain five days before a big match at Royal Rumble.

Knight called out any legend, which never bodes well. Cue the American Badass version of the Undertaker, complete with motorcycle and Kid Rock theme. LA wisely chose to avoid a confrontation and played it up like he was letting Taker off easy. So far, not so terrible.

But then Bray Wyatt came out and slooooowly stalked Knight, who stupidly fled into the ring… and right into Undertaker’s grasp. UT handed LA over to Wyatt, who hit a Sister Abigail.

Knight running into the ring was worse than every horror movie cliché of the girl who runs upstairs when being chased rather than out the open front door. He literally could have gone anywhere else – into the crowd, around the timekeeper’s area – and avoided catastrophe. Worse, the segment would have been no different if he had chosen to wisely flee and then Bray and UT had their mini-summit.

Just another way to make a current superstar look like a moron in the face of a legend… and five days before a PLE match, no less.
