The last high profile singles battle between Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant was bizarrely the best of the bunch, even if it meant the least both in hindsight and as it was happening.
The quickfire, chaotic brawl knock's the prior year's nervy, lumbering effort into a cocked hat, with Andre far more nimble than he had been on the company's grandest ever stage. The two were helped exponentially by the swinging sledgehammer of plot, too.
Given first round byes thanks to their mammoth television clash that caused the need for the tournament in the first place, Hogan and Andre were used to draw some of the pay-per-view audience the both booted from the bracket thanks to a chair-based double disqualification.
Ted Dibiase looked like a prime puppetmaster too, but Hogan was only prepared to be a pawn once on the night.
