7 Ups & 7 Downs From AEW All Out 2022

Some will be surprised to see the main event top these 'Downs'.

That's fair, and the match was enjoyable bell-to-bell. Unfortunately, AEW's build towards what should've been a first-time meeting between Jon Moxley and CM Punk f*cking sucked. Moxley's interim title reign was a waste of time, and they barely even touched on Punk's foot injury side quest.

It's easy to say now, yes, but Tony's panicky interim booking shouldn't have happened even when Punk was struck down by injuries at Double Or Nothing. His story, from emotional 'I'm going away' announcement to return, squash match loss and more, has been messy as f*ck.

Punk has been in AEW for one year and he's already a two-time champ. Something doesn't feel right about that, because it's like the company has burned through an unnecessary amount of storytelling in too short a time period.

They don't get a pass for panicking.
