7 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (10 Jan)
Downs…
7. Just A Match… And Not A Great One
Not every match on Raw is going to have a huge story behind it, but if you’re going to toss out a six-man tag match with some loose ties, give us something really good, or give us some angle advancement.
Street Profits teamed with Damian Priest to tangle with Apollo Crews (who lost to the Profits last week) and the Dirty Dawgs (with Dolph Ziggler losing to Priest last week). Naturally, since the heels lost both matches last week, they won this six-man match. But along the way, the match itself was pedestrian for the most part. It wasn’t anything to write home about, and featured a blind tag playing directly into the finish for the second time Monday night (lazy booking).
Maybe they’ll follow through and have the Dawgs face the Profits next week, which actually would make sense. But the problem here is that Ziggler, Robert Roode and Crews are just ice-cold as characters, so, despite their immense talent, it’s tough to get invested. So unless they blow you away in the ring, you just kind of sit there and go… meh.
