7 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 14)

3. Memory Lane

Last week brought an awesome Roman Reigns career retrospective that focused primarily on his recent problems, and his battle to get back to doing what he loves the most. A tremendous production, it came off extremely well, so WWE wisely went down a similar route with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair last night.

'The Queen' introduced the vignette herself. She came down to the ring, telling the world that Money In The Bank would see the conclusion of her and Lynch's rivalry, leading into the video itself. It touched every corner of their rich history together, from their early days toiling in NXT, all the way up to the present day, with Becky kickstarting her career by becoming 'The Man' at SummerSlam 2018, and all that has transpired since.

There is plenty to complain about when it comes to WWE's modern product, but the video team are immaculate. Their hit rate is higher than anything else in the company, and we'd rather have an awesome, well-crafted vignette like this than Becky and Charlotte shouting at each other from ladders, or whatever.
