7 Ups & 8 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 3)

1. Skulls Will Be Cracked

A short press conference was held on this week's Impact to add further hype to the World Championship match at Hard To Kill between Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard. It's been one of the best told stories in Impact history without a doubt, with every moment showing just how determined Tessa is to continue making history.

During the press conference, Tessa stated that she does actually respect the fact that 'The Draw' is one of the best wrestlers in Impact today, while Sami claimed that he doesn't detest Blanchard due to the fact that she's a woman, but rather because of the fact that she's had everything in her career handed to her due to being the daughter of the legendary Tully Blanchard (this couldn't be further from the truth). The press conference came to an end with both champion and challenger coming face to face after Callihan declared that he would crack Tessa's skull come 12 January.

Regardless of the outcome at Hard To Kill, history will have been made as a woman will have challenged a man for a promotion's main championship in the main event of a pay-per-view. No-one else can say they were the first to do such a thing. It'll obviously have a deeper impact should Tessa come out victorious and become the first knockout to win the Impact World Championship, but all that matters is the match is actually happening full stop.
