7 Ups & 9 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 20)

3. Sonny Kiss vs. Rey Fenix

There's a certain roughness to Sonny Kiss' work that'll disappear with seasoning. You notice it in things like his posture when he looks up, but 'The Concrete Rose' possesses so many special skills to build around. In quick, snappy bouts with guys like Rey Fenix, these really come to the forefront.

Fenix was a little pr*ck here. It worked to the match's benefit as he wrenched on Kiss' shoulder and feigned innocence when Aubrey Edwards admonished him for working too close to the line. His arm work was sold well by Sonny, who had the limb collapse while attempting a bridge, though it didn't play into the finish, as the Lucha Brother won via spinning Muscle Buster.

A shame that the limb work wasn't a factor in the end, as this may have been the night's biggest Up if it had.
