7 Ups & 9 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jun 11)

6. Elias & Miz Fumble Through

The first part of Shane McMahon's anti-Miz gauntlet saw 'The A-Lister' face off against Elias. It wasn't pretty. Though less than three minutes in length, the "action" was rote, mundane, and almost entirely lacking in excitement, with two perfectly acceptable Sports Entertainers delivering a run-of-the-mill Sports Entertainment snoozer.

That this first step took so little time to get through is it's saving grace, as a longer scrap would've sent everyone to the land of nod. Elias was no more than a hurdle for Miz. The show was already beginning to feel like it was dragging by the time they hit the ring (remarkable, given how early it went down), so at least Miz hopped over him in quick, efficient fashion.

Regardless, SmackDown could've really used a jolt of excitement in this slot.
