7 Ups And 0 Downs From WWE NXT (29 July)

1. Three's A Crowd

Thatcher Balor

It's very rare that you get a triple-threat match this open. All three men currently enjoying good runs on the show, all with their own storylines, but all appealing propositions to be included in the North American Championship ladder match.

Not only that, but there's rarely such diversity of style between three men. Thatcher's brutal mat-based stretches, Balor's explosive borderline Strong Style, and Dexter Lumis doing that... quiet... technical... brawler... thing? Easily three of NXT's most distinctive workers gave us a match that wasn't exactly a classic, but a brilliant watch for a TV main-event.

And just like last week and the thought of this ladder match being far more star-making that is was star-studded, Lumis picking up a squeaky clean win over two far more experienced opponents feels like a massive reward for this short time in the spotlight. Not to even mention how cool the finish itself was, locking Thatcher in the Silence while he still had Balor writing around in an ankle lock.

That's now Lumis and Reed through to the final, with either Priest (good shout), Lorcan (YES!!!), or the debuting Ridge Holland (YORKSHIRE) to join them next week. Opportunities, indeed.
