Last week saw Jordan Devlin challenge Santos Escobar for the right to call himself the undisputed NXT Cruiserweight Champion. So, in an attempt to show his TakeOver: Stand and Deliver opponent what he was getting into in two week's time, the NXT UK man would meet KUSHIDA in one-on-one action on the latest episode of the black and gold show.

Proving very quickly why he wasn't going to be an easy night's work for both Santos or KUSHIDA, Devlin connected with two beautiful moonsaults; one from a standing position in the middle of the ring, and the other in springboard form to the outside.

KUSHIDA wouldn't stay down for long, however, connecting with his trademark springboard back elbow and his usual array of arm-isolating attacks. It wasn't only a matter of time before Santos Escobar and his cronies arrived on the scene, though, and distracted Devlin as it looked like the whole thing was set to be thrown out as a DQ.

Yet, in an unexpected turn of events, Devlin was able to evade their attacks, throw his opponent into the unit and roll him up with one arm. The two Cruiserweight Champions then squared up to each other in the ring, only for Shawn Michaels to turn up, throw a ladder between them, salute, and make the whole thing official.

Two titles. A bunch of ladders. And only one guy holding the all important strap once the dust settled at Stand and Deliver.

Sure, KUSHIDA looked like a loser, despite firing back post-match with a bunch of brassed off sentons, but the combination of ladders and TakeOver rarely disappoints, so we'll forgive making our boy look like a fool on this occasion.
