7 Ups And 1 Down For WWE NXT (Mar 24)

1. Cole And O'Reilly Make Us Care... Finally

It was revealed earlier in the show that Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly's NXT beef spilled out into the "real world" a few days ago as the former NXT Champion attacked his one-time brother at his BJJ gym. The actual execution may have resembled a bad high school play being acted out on a crash mat, but the intentions were solid enough. This feud was too hot to contain, bay bay!

So, in the closing stages of this week's show, William Regal finally revealed what the solution would be to this entire combustable situation. He offered the pair the chance to co-main event TakeOver: Stand and Deliver, but from the moment the pair signed the papers, NXT would not be held responsible for anything that happens to either man.

Cole would soon explain that he had a revelation that involved him realising he didn't need the Undisputed Era, and that O'Reilly helped him figure this out on the back of trying to befriend NXT Champion Finn Balor in the wake of losing to him twice... like the "lapdog" he is. Firing back, O'Reilly confessed that he was tired of the sneak attacks and the UE way of getting the job done, delivering the brilliant line that he sold his soul to the devil and now he wanted it back.

Inevitably the pair would get in each other's faces as the ink dried, and Cole even decked Regal as the show went off the air.

This felt like the moment things genuinely started to make sense in this blood feud. Instead of selling their pain and need to finish their old pal once and for all via ineffective "real life" segments, the pair poured their hearts out and gave us all a reason to care about the fallout of the UE break-up. And about damn time too...
